Went in and read for a detective play at a children’s theatre with the worst reader ever. He was the writer of the play. He read slowly, gave no inflection, was just terrible.

I was auditioning for a company located out in the east coast of Canada. I see a friend come out of his audition completely pissed off, totally fuming. I was like “Dude, it’s just an audition, not worth getting upset about.”

I’d been going to casting workshops for some time when I realized that sometimes I would escape without anything that justified their being called “a workshop.”  That is, no instruction, guidance, or anything of value to me–just a monologue and the casting person asks me about myself. So, I decided that if I got nothing from a workshop, I would end it by asking “What’s my type?”
